Regina The Sea Witch

This is my submission for the OUAT 2x contest, or at least the first part. This part of the contest involved designing a costume for Regina inspired by a necklace that was posted ([link]).

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of the necklace, but when I first saw it, I immediately thought of Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" (The top three gems resemble the crown she wears towards the end of the movie when she's all large and in charge, and the two white diamonds against the large round emerald reminded me of her Octopus body. And then I remembered in an interview that Lana P. has expressed repeatedly that she wants to play the Sea Witch badly, so I decided to go that route.

The colors are inspired directly from the necklace and you can see elements here and there that resemble the shapes. The purple Gem crown is SO Regina, but honestly she had no choice in the green octopus-half. That's Rumple's doing (helping Reggie with her little "Mermaid Problem"; but he warned her not to lose that magical shell...or she is screeeeewed). She chose a white attire to convince the naive fishy princess that Regina is indeed a GOOD witch and will help the poor child get her prince. In exchange, Arial just needs to get daddy to sign a "tiny, insignificant contract"... and I am sure it is JUST THAT.

Listened to Pendulum: Immersion during the drawing of the piece. It fit. Sorry for the rush color job.
